I've made a couple of changes to my blog and added some pictures to my start up page. I had previously shared my funky purse and transformation elsewhere in the blog but as the blog changes daily they fell into the atmosphere.

I'm still working on the Christmas project and a knit bag. I dropped my work off yesterday at the Albany Shaker museum so if you are in the neighborhood drop on by. They really have a wonderful selection of artists and gifts for the holidays. The Christmas fair is open from Saturday, October 27, to Thursday December 20th. There is also a wonderful feeling to the meeting house. I guess that is because they used to have church meetings in there. The Shaker philosophy is an interesting one too and I feel a kinship with the shakers of old whenever I am there. Hands and hearts working together. Isn't that what we do now?

I've also had something very exciting happen but really don't want to discuss it until I'm sure where it's going. It has something to do with my beginnings. I'll leave it at that. I hope everyone is happy and stitching.

Embroidery is an exciting craft.Tangled is one of those fiber artists who doesn't have to stay on the lines , making her items unique. Her purses are in the "Where did you get that bag? " category. If you get to the Shaker, don't miss her booth! It's a great place to shop!

More Ornaments

Just passing by. I have spent the day making more ornaments. I am really loving making ornaments this year. I give thanks to Kathy from the Katbird Shop who said that they are little pieces of portable art. It gave me something to strive for. I am enjoying the act of making the ornaments(except for the stuffing which I wish I had a couple of Santa's elves to do). I really enjoyed making Santa's fur on his jacket and his beard and making the french knot sheep so I got up close with the camera so you could see the details. French knots are my favorite, favorite stitch. Also a music recommendation. I am listening to Death Cab For Cutie's Plans which I took out of the library. Very haunting and thought provoking and the most wonderful music to stitch in a meditative way to. For those of you who are Twilight fans they sing the song Meet Me at The Equinox from the movie. I'm not a Twilight fan but I am a Death Cab For Cutie fan so that is where my interest lies. T

A little joy 002 , a photo by DebraAnn813 on Flickr. I didn't want to end this year without expressing just how joyful this year was. Not the whole year but so much of it. At the end of this year I'm lucky to share my love of family, love of embroidery, love of music with masses. I've had such wonderful opportunities, such wonderful times with friends and family, such wonderful time hand embroidering and I've discovered how easy it is to be happy with a needle in my hand and headphones on my ears!
