In The Moment

Image
I am crocheting on a real snow day.   The snow is beautiful and white and fluffy and late in the season.   In a few days it will be gone but in this moment I am enjoying the beauty of the moment and the roof over my head.   The feel of my crochet needle as the thread becomes a dress for a precious little baby who has been a dream and now is a reality.   In this moment, nothing else exists.   It’s a great day. I have been one who has lived in the past for so long; it is nice to be in this moment in this place watching the snow falling down.   It is nice to put the past behind me and not worrying about the future in this moment.   It may not last but for the moment it is beautiful. Speaking of the past, it is time to deal with your demons.   Take them on and try to rid yourself of the power they hold over you.   It may not be easy, it fact it is quite painful but once you do it, the pain disappears and then you can decide what to r...

Something different

This is a knit bag I made a while ago but never took a picture of. It was knit using brown sheep sable(love, love, love that color) and cascade turqouise. It was knit in a rib lined with satin. I haven't been knitting very much lately and am trying to inspire myself to put the embroidery needle down and have some fun knitting( I have fun embroidering too but it's different). It's snowing here in my little section of Upstate New York. Not really sticking to the roads and when I went out earlier it was more like rain on the windshield. I came home and listened to CD#3 of Dave Matthews in Central Park, ate a little lunch, did a little laundry and embroidered my new piece. I can't wait to share it when I am finished because it is a project special to my own heart. I'm going to watch the Oscars later. Don't really go to the movies but I pick Sean Penn and Kate Winslet from the commercials. I hope Heath Ledger wins because he was a great actor and he should ha...

Winter Wonderland

Since I am hearing Icy pitpats on my roof, I figured I should blog before the electricity might go out and get myself back to the wonder of fibers and threads. This is a picture of my beloved Charley in the snow. It is actually a few years old but not much has changed especially today(sorry I don't have a current picture of Charley in the snow but it's cold and I'm not going out until I have to, neither is Charley). I moved here from Long Island 5 years ago next month. When I moved my mother in law told me I should knit Charley a sweater. Now I know that Charley should knit me a sweater. My tiny little westie loves the snow. She rolls around in it, she chases it, she licks it, she just loves it. Myself I'm not quite so taken with it but it is lovely especially when it is falling and Charley is very lovely when she is rolling around in it. Funny thing is we don't have a heck of a lot of snow where I live in upstate NY. The fronts either drop below us or fly a...
