Redemption

Image
The title of this piece is Redemption.  Sooner or later in our lives we all need redemption.  The world we create is a world of thoughts, sort of the black cloud following us where ever we go.  That is if we choose to believe there is a black cloud following us. If we believe in love and faith, we tend to live a life of love and faith.  If we keep our own thoughts uppermost in our minds, we can believe anything.  Including the idea that we are connected to the world  and each other through those thoughts. I believe if everybody just prayed to the God they believe in or the universe and prayed for peace, it could possible catch on and we could live in the blue sunny part of life instead of the hell we drag with us every day.  Try something different and try to be positive one entire day and discard those hellish thoughts that don't really define all of us made in God's image.  There are so many negative messages being delivered from so many d...

Anabora, Goddess of Darkness and Light

Image
This is Anabora.  She is my Goddess.  I hand embroidered her two or three years ago and she sat folded up in my drawer for a couple of years until a few months ago when I framed her and hung her on my wall.  She represents the dreams I let go of while I searched for a way to express myself as a mere mortal scarred by loss. She is my goddess of the dark bringing light where ever she can. A lot of water has gone under the bridge and a lot of time has been lost. Somewhere in the last few months, Anabora has emerged from her slumber and healed the wounds of a wounded child.  It's not that the wounded child does not feel, perhaps it is that she feels too much. When you lose something as a child that you can't replace, you lose your trajectory.  You suffer such a profound loss and absorb the feelings of the adults around you.Whatever your dreams were before that day, they become lost.  And you spend the rest of your life searching for them.  One day so...

Light in the Darkness

Image
Light in the Darkness is the latest addition to my Etsy shop. This past few months have been the most trying collectively of my life.   I've had to come to terms with the darkness I've carried around in my soul most of my life.  It is now time to move on and move into the light.  This heart represents that light.  I am making changes and I will start making better choices now that I know I must.  I am grateful for the experiences that allow me to understand that now is the  time to move on, figurately and spiritually. We all have darkness in our life, every single one of us.  Some of us talk too much about it like myself and others keep it hidden. But everyone has darkness.  And everyone has light.  Life is a journey of peaks and valleys, goods and bads, highs and lows.  Metaphors are metaphors for a reason.  I have realized that I can no longer live in the dark side of my soul. I can no longer give anyone the power t...

Beneath The Surface

Image
Beneath The Surface , a photo by DebraAnn813 on Flickr. Sometimes our most important lessons are hidden beneath the surface.  In the dark where light is not able to reach. I have been learning an important lesson. One which lives in that gray area between what is total darkness and what is the light.  That lesson is that perhaps you have to believe in something that isn't real so you can learn the importance of what is real.  The real stuff is your loves.  Who you spend your days, nights and weekends with.  How much time you spend embroidering or doing something that you love.   The more time you spend doing something you love the more you feed your soul and share your light with others.  That can be very deceiving.
