I love this hand crocheted scarf.  Ok I've said it, I love this scarf.  I especially love the colors.  Yes I know you cannot see the colors very clearly in the picture.  The center circle is this lovely greenish brown pinkish color and the outer color is this lovely brownish reddish color and they offset each other perfectly.  And they are circles.  What more could you ask for?  This scarf is only available on the blog now for $45.00.  If you wish to purchase it, you can email me or comment with your email.  I am getting ready for the busiest season of the year and Albany Shaker is next week(can you believe it?) and then I will be starting a new circle. I have signed up with an artist representative in Albany, more information on that soon.  I'm living in Whitehall but want to keep a presence down Albany way so I've found a wonderful company to represent me.  I'm very excited.  I''m bouncing back and forth at the moment w...

All of Our Life is a Circle

Image
All our life is a circle, sunrise and sundown is a line from a song by Harry Chapin. I had the pleasure of seeing him in concert when I was younger and this was my favorite song by him. It's profound but all of our lives are a circle. We all have a beginning and an end, a sunrise and sunset. And our lives are lived in circles. We have a circle of friends, a circle of families, sometimes several circles of friends and several circles of families. But we are all connected in some way be it the string theory(my favorite) or some other theory. We all add to the planet and universe in some way. Either that way is positive or that way is negative. We get to choose our way in every single moment. We decide whether our circles are large or small. Do we care about ourselves, which would make our circle small or do we care what happens to people across the globe, which would make our circle larger? The internet allows two people from completely opposite parts of the world to ...

Circles

Circles and Grids is available at Valley Artisan Market.   It is one of my favorite pieces because it signifies the circle of life.   There are so many circles and threads that connect all of us to each other  and to our universe. The french knots signify peace as I must focus on the task at hand  when making them and I find my center in them.  The colors I chose are peaceful and remind me of the ocean. The ocean tides go in and out and never get stagnant. Most of all when I am embroidering and listening to music I feel the love of the universe speaking to me.  My hope is that whoever takes this piece home will find their own story and their own peace in it. Blessings.

Going around in circles. That is what I feel like lately. Having a ball(or a circle) crocheting and knitting my way through the house. Tumultous life everywhere else. Too much to go into(although it is the reason for my infrequent posts)so we'll talk about the feel of the yarn and the fun of making circles from beautiful textures of color into a lovely scarf . I'm working on another scarf which is a long and winding road of color and I've made a few small bags and a few large ones too. More photos of work to come. Last week I took photos of everything new on a black velvet background to showcase the colors and textures, unfortunately the black velvet made everything look very dark(to match my mood of course)so I will get my work together on my dining room table and take new pictures soon. Don't get me wrong I am one very lucky woman, I have fabulous supportive friends and it's amazing what a ball of yarn and some cool music in the background can do but thi...

Circles Continued

All my lifes a circle sunrise and sundown. Sung by the wonderful Harry Chapin who I had the honor of seeing in person when I was a teen at a community college. I loved him and bought a few of his albums and oddly enough settled in Huntington Long Island where he was buried. He died on a July 16th in an auto accident the same day I returned from the one week I tried to sell ads for bookcovers about an hour away from where I now live. That trip changed my entire life as the beauty of the area which I now live in was probably seen from a beautiful hairpin turn while during that one week in my crazy job experience thing(I had dozens of jobs before I had my delightful son and retired to stay at home mom). So what does this have to do with now you are thinking? I can't really kid myself and pretend that I am going to be this great hand embroidery artist. Of course I'll still hand embroider and try to sell them but reality says I have to change course as I can't really even ...
