The Leap/Inspire Me Thursday

OK I'm sure you're wondering what the heck is this. It is the Leap. Thursday I went to Inspire Me Thursday and saw that the topic was Leap and I was frankly not inspired until about 1:00 in the morning last night. All of a sudden the Leap came to me. Now I know it doesn't look like much at the moment but once my needles and embroidery thread get done with it, it will be lovely(I'm optimistic again).

When I was in the coop my favorite monthly theme was Artist at Work, in which we would start a project, work on it while we were there and leave our work unfinished for people to look at. I found the whole experience very centering(since I was embroidering) and very interesting. So to put one of my favorite coop experiences together with my work, I am taking a leap and I will be posting updates of the piece once or twice a week until it's finished. Perhaps it will give some insight to my work and some thought processes of my needles. My needles seem to have a life of their own.

I feel like the creative drought is over and my joy is overflowing into my glass which as you can probably tell had been pretty much empty for a few weeks now. I will try very hard to add pictures of my previous work that you haven't seen so you will always have eye candy to look at. And explain the back drop to that too. I have a few craft shows coming up so I will be exceedingly busy and unable to analyze myself so the posts will be hopefully a little more uplifting then they have been lately.

Thanks if you are still reading. Keep stitching. See you soon with some pics.

HI! Thanks for the comment at my journal :)

I can't wait to see how your Leap progresses. The design is wonderful. I use to love to do a little embroidery (beginner stuff). It was so relaxing. Seeing this project makes me want to dig out the needle and thread!

Hi Deb, your Leap reminds me of a chinese character, I forget what they're called...where different things put together make up a word or phrase. So sun shining on woman leaping over lotus might mean "Success!"
