Things are Picking up!

Hi All! My friend's sister picked up her bag and loved it so here it is for you to see. Things have been soooooooooo busy lately. I'm working all the time. I sold a framed piece called Flamethrower(it's a hand embroidered framed hand made out of lovely shades of orange which of course I didn't take a picture of) and The Katbird Shop sold my lovely hand embroidered Stella, she is the face on my flicker account. I hope her new owner loves her as much as I enjoyed making her. I am so excited to see things actually sell. I love, love, love what I do and now have a reason to do it 24/7 so of course my mood is soaring.

At the moment I have another tree waiting to be framed, it's a bit of a leaner so I think I'm going to call it Leaning Tower of Treesa. I have a heart bag which I'm embroidering(pictures to follow and I'm working on a knit bag kind of shapely, not too thrilled with it in it's current form but think once it's assembled it will be quite cool. Add that to the vacation week and my son's friend visiting and I guess you can see why I am so busy and not able to kibbitz on my blog as much as I would like to.

The politics thing has flown the coop, still an avid Obama supporter and nothing will change that so I'm taking a break from political talking heads and listening to some peaceful music to go along with my peaceful work.

Last week we went for a ride to the Berkshires, specifically the Hairpin turn in North Adams, Mass. When I was in my early 20's I sold book covers for a week and traveled to different towns in Massachusetts. I started out at Amherst College and ended up in Williamstown and then Sherburne, NY. On my travels I discoved the beautiful hairpin curve and the beautiful view of 4 states on the road. The beautiful mountains stayed with me all these years(we're talking about 25)but I forgot where they were located. When we first moved upstate(I think inspired by that beautiful view) we tried to find it and were believe it or not 10 minutes short, I forgot about the Amherst part of the trip and thought it was in Williamstown. So armed with the information and the need for a day trip(my lovely son cannnot handle a weeks vacation without his computer and cell phone) and set off to find it. Now I know why I never forgot it and it has been a calling card to settle back and live the good life. If you are ever in the area please go and see this spectacular road and the spectacular view.

So to wrap this all up. The last few weeks have been tremendous. I worked a lot to get ready for different opportunities(there is one more in the balance so check back next week I hope)I realized how much my work means to me and how it touches others. I'm finally over the artist thing. I am one, I'm happy to be one and everything that happens, happens for a reason. Blessings and love to you all and I hope that your journey has been happy too.
