Peace and Joy

To all my bloggy friends thank you all for your wonderful and supportive responses to my blog and I hope you much Peace and Joy for your holiday season. And a wonderful time with your family and friends and to all my bloggy friends lucky enough to have flowers for this Easter I'm very envious. Not even a crocus to be seen up here in my neck of the woods.

Peace is not exactly a pillow but an experiment. I tried that miniquilt thing and I was pleased with how it turned out. I used a few pieces of wool entwined with embroidery thread and beads as the hanger. Also the fabric was a scrap of my watercolored fabric(which I can't wait to do again soon). And joy is a little pillow I made of the most beautiful clump of leftover thread. Didn't even have to search for more thread to make it thankfully!

Once again a round of hugs to everyone and good wishes for a beautiful and peaceful holiday!

You may not have crocuses yet, but I know you have some peace around you, compared to the busy and crowded place that LI is!

My dog's name is Charlotte when she's groomed and Charlie when she's not. She's a westie. Now she's a charlie but soon she will be a charlotte again when the weather is warm.

Just passing by. I have spent the day making more ornaments. I am really loving making ornaments this year. I give thanks to Kathy from the Katbird Shop who said that they are little pieces of portable art. It gave me something to strive for. I am enjoying the act of making the ornaments(except for the stuffing which I wish I had a couple of Santa's elves to do). I really enjoyed making Santa's fur on his jacket and his beard and making the french knot sheep so I got up close with the camera so you could see the details. French knots are my favorite, favorite stitch. Also a music recommendation. I am listening to Death Cab For Cutie's Plans which I took out of the library. Symbols and Circles ReDo

Hi All! I spent my Mother's Day joyfully revamping Symbols and Circles. Still not sure I like it but I like it better then it's previous incarnation, it gave me a couple of hours of blissfully joyful french knotting, it's a bit more interesting, and more reflective of my current work. So that is that and I will now have it at my future shows and maybe it will even make another appearance at Katbird. I am still working on my flame thrower hand and only have a few flamethrowing fingers left. It's on watercolored fabric and the colored fabric makes such a big difference and I enjoy painting on the fabric too. I had a wonderful Mother's Day, nice peaceful and embroidery filled. I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day too. There are a lot of great things on my links so please take a look if you have a chance. They are so inspiring to me I hope they do the same for you. The Blessings Of Ovation

Today I am thankful for the blessings I have. For the family who love me. For the friends who love me. For my wondrous dog and all the pets I've loved and who have loved me. For the idea of art and creation and the ability of that medium that allows anyone to find peace. Even a tortured soul like me.
