Symbols and Circles

Hi This is Symbols and Circles. It's a piece I made for Katbird Shop when I first started showing my work there. Not sure whether I like it or not. My work now is embellished with other colors and usually on watercolor fabric so may doodle around with it and see what happens. I'm working on a new hand and am debating whether to show it as a wip or just wait until it's finished. I'm also working on an eye glass case as a gift for a friend. I will share it after I present it to her. And I still have a few pieces waiting for a frame.

So now that my son is happily 18 I can share what we did for his birthday. We went down to Citifield and saw a Met Game. What a beautiful new stadium. A pitcher's duel to boot and it didn't rain until the bottom of the 9th. I enjoyed my self so much but was exhausted as we went down on Wednesday, went out to dinner with the inlaws, went to the game and came back early the next morning. So exhausting but it was a great pleasure to embroider my way cross the state of NY. And to see the Mets and to celebrate my son's birthday.

Hope your week was wonderful too and will be back soon with photos(hopefully since both my husband and my son took cameraphone photos).

oh, but isn't ofter the game and visiting the BEST tired!! Can't wait to see new stuff -- I like where symbols and circles went (nice composition). Stay busy!

More Ornaments

Just passing by. I have spent the day making more ornaments. I am really loving making ornaments this year. I give thanks to Kathy from the Katbird Shop who said that they are little pieces of portable art. It gave me something to strive for. I am enjoying the act of making the ornaments(except for the stuffing which I wish I had a couple of Santa's elves to do). I really enjoyed making Santa's fur on his jacket and his beard and making the french knot sheep so I got up close with the camera so you could see the details. French knots are my favorite, favorite stitch. Also a music recommendation. I am listening to Death Cab For Cutie's Plans which I took out of the library. Very haunting and thought provoking and the most wonderful music to stitch in a meditative way to. For those of you who are Twilight fans they sing the song Meet Me at The Equinox from the movie. I'm not a Twilight fan but I am a Death Cab For Cutie fan so that is where my interest lies. T

A little joy 002 , a photo by DebraAnn813 on Flickr. I didn't want to end this year without expressing just how joyful this year was. Not the whole year but so much of it. At the end of this year I'm lucky to share my love of family, love of embroidery, love of music with masses. I've had such wonderful opportunities, such wonderful times with friends and family, such wonderful time hand embroidering and I've discovered how easy it is to be happy with a needle in my hand and headphones on my ears!
