Another day

This is the knit bag that I spoke about a while ago with all the different colors and bobbins. Thanks to Becky from Knit One, Purl Two for her lovely Kaffe Fassett suggestion of doing away with the bobbins. It really worked great. It was a while ago I wrote about this bag but I finished it in the last few weeks. I'm working on another scarf and Kathy from Katbird sold my satellite bag which was freeform thread crochet. It was very exciting and she also sold one of my crazy embroidered framed hearts. My son is adjusting wonderfully to college and I have lost 5 pounds since my doctors visit at the beginning of the month. So life is good and I'm finally adjusting positively to all this change. This IS a beautiful bag, but then, I ALWAYS loved your bags at the Co-op, too. Now that I've seen your scarves, I love them, too! Glad to hear that you are doing so well.

More Ornaments

Just passing by. I have spent the day making more ornaments. I am really loving making ornaments this year. I give thanks to Kathy from the Katbird Shop who said that they are little pieces of portable art. It gave me something to strive for. I am enjoying the act of making the ornaments(except for the stuffing which I wish I had a couple of Santa's elves to do). I really enjoyed making Santa's fur on his jacket and his beard and making the french knot sheep so I got up close with the camera so you could see the details. French knots are my favorite, favorite stitch. Also a music recommendation. I am listening to Death Cab For Cutie's Plans which I took out of the library. Very haunting and thought provoking and the most wonderful music to stitch in a meditative way to. For those of you who are Twilight fans they sing the song Meet Me at The Equinox from the movie. I'm not a Twilight fan but I am a Death Cab For Cutie fan so that is where my interest lies. T

A little joy 002 , a photo by DebraAnn813 on Flickr. I didn't want to end this year without expressing just how joyful this year was. Not the whole year but so much of it. At the end of this year I'm lucky to share my love of family, love of embroidery, love of music with masses. I've had such wonderful opportunities, such wonderful times with friends and family, such wonderful time hand embroidering and I've discovered how easy it is to be happy with a needle in my hand and headphones on my ears!
