The Long and Winding Road

The Long and Winding Road that leads to your door.  I've been on a road trip with my cousin.  I am so grateful for her companionship and the great times we had.  We had beautiful weather, wonderful food and met lots of inspiring people.  I worked on the Long and Winding Road during my travels. 

We went to Nashville, New Orleans, Graceland, Pensacola, Thomasville, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia Beach and ate crabs in Maryland.  It was loads of fun and I have a bunch of pictures to share at some point. I loved it so much I'm trying to figure out a new destination soon.

Now it's time to dedicate myself to something, have a couple of craft fairs coming up, would still like to travel, and feel it's necessary to unplug so although my blog posts are few and far between they will remain that way for the time being .  I am having  a very hard time writing at the moment.  I miss my bloggy friends with all your inspirational blog posts and your artistry hopefully I'll figure this all out and be back soon.

Today I am thankful for the blessings I have. For the family who love me. For the friends who love me. For my wondrous dog and all the pets I've loved and who have loved me. More Ornaments

Just passing by. I have spent the day making more ornaments. I am really loving making ornaments this year. I give thanks to Kathy from the Katbird Shop who said that they are little pieces of portable art. It gave me something to strive for. I am enjoying the act of making the ornaments(except for the stuffing which I wish I had a couple of Santa's elves to do). I really enjoyed making Santa's fur on his jacket and his beard and making the french knot sheep so I got up close with the camera so you could see the details. French knots are my favorite, favorite stitch. Also a music recommendation. I am listening to Death Cab For Cutie's Plans which I took out of the library. Very haunting and thought provoking and the most wonderful music to stitch in a meditative way to. For those of you who are Twilight fans they sing the song Meet Me at The Equinox from the movie. I'm not a Twilight fan but I am a Death Cab For Cutie fan so that is where my interest lies. T

A little joy 002 , a photo by DebraAnn813 on Flickr. I didn't want to end this year without expressing just how joyful this year was. Not the whole year but so much of it. At the end of this year I'm lucky to share my love of family, love of embroidery, love of music with masses. I've had such wonderful opportunities, such wonderful times with friends and family, such wonderful time hand embroidering and I've discovered how easy it is to be happy with a needle in my hand and headphones on my ears!
