Wish I were in Iowa

This post is gonna be another one of those political posts. Not very controversial, just political. Tonight is the Democratic Caucus in Iowa. I am breathlessly awaiting watching it on CSPAN. I am a real political junkie, I'm also an inspired one. Every four years I sit poised with idealism waiting for my candidate to be chosen. I was a Deaniac 4 years ago so I promised myself I would not get all idealistic again. But alas here I am idealistic that tomorrow will be a new day in America.

I am completely inspired by Barack Obama. He will restore my faith in human nature and the idea of idealism if he wins. One has to have a dream(it seems especially if one is an artist). I could probably support another democrat but it so much easier to do something when you are inspired instead of just voting against some one else. When I look at Obama I see healing. Healing for the United States and for all the countries around the world.

So there you have it, that is the reason I wish I were in Iowa!

I have some new pictures so I'll be back tomorrow! Sorry for the digression into politics once again!

I am right with you. I really like John Edwards too with taking on the corporations ... but last night we ended watching until almost midnight.

It was so thrilling to see a candidate (Obama) who is offering hope and dreams and vision the way Kennedy and Martin Luther Kind did.

It was so incredible the stature he had as he spoke ... giving us hope instead of being again ... not that he doesn't have principles .. he does ...

SO AWESOME!!!

I love your post. I think you said it all perfectly. It was wonderful to see Obama come in 1st, he has a clear vision and is so inspiring and full of hope. I would support a few of the other Democrats, but I do like Obama,so much. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Just passing by. I have spent the day making more ornaments. I am really loving making ornaments this year. I give thanks to Kathy from the Katbird Shop who said that they are little pieces of portable art. It gave me something to strive for. I am enjoying the act of making the ornaments(except for the stuffing which I wish I had a couple of Santa's elves to do). I really enjoyed making Santa's fur on his jacket and his beard and making the french knot sheep so I got up close with the camera so you could see the details. French knots are my favorite, favorite stitch. Also a music recommendation. I am listening to Death Cab For Cutie's Plans which I took out of the library. Symbols and Circles ReDo

Hi All! I spent my Mother's Day joyfully revamping Symbols and Circles. Still not sure I like it but I like it better then it's previous incarnation, it gave me a couple of hours of blissfully joyful french knotting, it's a bit more interesting, and more reflective of my current work. So that is that and I will now have it at my future shows and maybe it will even make another appearance at Katbird. I am still working on my flame thrower hand and only have a few flamethrowing fingers left. It's on watercolored fabric and the colored fabric makes such a big difference and I enjoy painting on the fabric too. I had a wonderful Mother's Day, nice peaceful and embroidery filled. I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day too. There are a lot of great things on my links so please take a look if you have a chance. They are so inspiring to me I hope they do the same for you. The Blessings Of Ovation

Today I am thankful for the blessings I have. For the family who love me. For the friends who love me. For my wondrous dog and all the pets I've loved and who have loved me. For the idea of art and creation and the ability of that medium that allows anyone to find peace. Even a tortured soul like me.
