Today is a happy day. My son had his wisdom teeth and another removed today. He felt well enough to eat macaroni and cheese instead of yogurt for dinner and he says it's not so bad so far. Trying not to be too optimistic as tomorrow when everything wears off he may not feel as well as he does today but since I have been an absolute wreck I am feeling relieved tonight. I didn't realize just how nervous I have been until I left the room when the oral surgeon came in. Was too nervous to even embroider. It's not good when I'm too nervous to embroider. Haven't been able to embroider for days, maybe nerves were with me then too. So I think I'm going to go in wisdom and relax for a while. thanks everyone for all your well wishes and for giving me some badly needed advice. i'll be back tomorrow or the next day with pictures and an update.

Keep stitching(I might just go do that myself)

Congrats! Kids are more resilient than we are (I feel with you, though)..Maybe I'll take up stitching too.. Have a good evening!

So glad it is over and that it went well. Our mother insticts are always on alert, even when we try to tell ourselves it will be fine. Time for you to relax, start stitching and have a peaceful night. Hopefully, he will not be in too much discomfort.

Just passing by. I have spent the day making more ornaments. I am really loving making ornaments this year. I give thanks to Kathy from the Katbird Shop who said that they are little pieces of portable art. It gave me something to strive for. I am enjoying the act of making the ornaments(except for the stuffing which I wish I had a couple of Santa's elves to do). I really enjoyed making Santa's fur on his jacket and his beard and making the french knot sheep so I got up close with the camera so you could see the details. French knots are my favorite, favorite stitch. Also a music recommendation. I am listening to Death Cab For Cutie's Plans which I took out of the library. Very haunting and thought provoking and the most wonderful music to stitch in a meditative way to. For those of you who are Twilight fans they sing the song Meet Me at The Equinox from the movie. Symbols and Circles ReDo

Hi All! I spent my Mother's Day joyfully revamping Symbols and Circles. Still not sure I like it but I like it better then it's previous incarnation, it gave me a couple of hours of blissfully joyful french knotting, it's a bit more interesting, and more reflective of my current work. So that is that and I will now have it at my future shows and maybe it will even make another appearance at Katbird. I am still working on my flame thrower hand and only have a few flamethrowing fingers left. It's on watercolored fabric and the colored fabric makes such a big difference and I enjoy painting on the fabric too. I had a wonderful Mother's Day, nice peaceful and embroidery filled. I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day too. There are a lot of great things on my links so please take a look if you have a chance. They are so inspiring to me I hope they do the same for you. The Blessings Of Ovation

Today I am thankful for the blessings I have. For the family who love me. For the friends who love me. For my wondrous dog and all the pets I've loved and who have loved me. For the idea of art and creation and the ability of that medium that allows anyone to find peace. Even a tortured soul like me. And for the daily inspirations of life where no one would expect to find them. I was watching Ovation tv the other night and they are doing their Everything is Art week. I am so inspired watching artists and designers and understanding where they come from. More from their work process then the finished project. I seem to understand their art and their process better than I understand my own.
