Time for a closeup

Image
Hi All.  Life’s been a little hectic.  Working a wee bit more as a waitress so I’m not listing quite as often.  I am still making a commitment to myself and my customers to share closeups of my current listings which is what I’m doing today.  One of my favorite winter scene ornaments.  Red curtains in the windows, red bows on the trees and white snowflakes which are French knots.  Winter scenes ares some of my favorites but I love to do anything with French knots.  They are my yang to my yang and details just thrill me.  Don’t forget the closeups are an exaggerated look at the pictures the ornaments, t are pretty and dainty and detailed in their simplicity in person.  I will be sharing more ornaments soon and will also have new listings.  Drop me a line if you’d like to see something specific. This beautiful ornament can be found by clicking on this link. https://etsy.me/2NYlytR

New Etsy Shop Description

Welcome to my Etsy Shop. I am a hand embroidery artist/fiber artist.  I have been hand embroidering almost all of my life since my grandmother taught me when I was five years old.  I started selling my work when my son was two, when a friend admired my work and told me I should be selling it.  That was 25 years ago.  At first I did craft fairs and sold my work in stores.  I made hand crocheted christening outfits, baby clothes, and hand embroidered pillows and ornaments which I had hand drawn and hand embroidered.  Because I hand draw all my embroidery work all of my pieces are one of a kind.  At that time I lived on Long Island and had a nice mix of stores that I worked with and private customers.  About 15 years ago I moved to upstate NY and found my artistic side.  I found myself joining an artist coop and creating things I had never imagined I was capable of.  I’ve done craft fairs, have my work in a wonderful artisan market, several...

Autumn in Upstate New York

Image
I love autumn in Upstate NY.  The trees, the bright colors, the apple cider donuts and cooler temperatures to embroider in.  I needed a little break from the heart ornaments and wanted to make a colorful, French knot laden project.  What better project than a lovely autumn tree.  I’ve only just begun but looking forward to some time with my needles and thread and maybe some leaf peeping to inspire me.  Looking forward to the reveal on Etsy see you soon.  You can see other autumn inspired hearts and ornaments, festive enough to put on your Christmas tree.  www.etsy.com/shop/debstangledstitches
