My Favorte Purse

My favorite purse now resides in some one elses house, as does its black velvet and gold satin sister. It was my first foray into evening purses. It was a beautiful handembroidered and hand beaded patchwork purse. I loved making it and I recently got an update from the lady who bought it and it is quite the attention getter and she still loves it too. I love to make purses. Frilly funny little purses, knit purses, freeform thread purses and embroidered purses. They seem to be the be all and end all for me. Don't know if I mentioned but I make needlecrafted accessories for the heart, home and body. I think my pieces speak to the heart of the buyer and speak to me while I'm creating them. The home is pillows, not my favorite accessorie but it has always been my biggest seller. And well then comes the purses. I'm venturing into thread crochet scarves. I love to work with crochet cotton. It's up there with hand embroidery. But like I said yesterday nothing quite thrills me and calms me down to my center faster then hand embroidery. Oh well. Just a musing. And a chance to share my work. See you soon.

Today I am thankful for the blessings I have. For the family who love me. For the friends who love me. For my wondrous dog and all the pets I've loved and who have loved me. More Ornaments

Just passing by. I have spent the day making more ornaments. I am really loving making ornaments this year. I give thanks to Kathy from the Katbird Shop who said that they are little pieces of portable art. It gave me something to strive for. I am enjoying the act of making the ornaments(except for the stuffing which I wish I had a couple of Santa's elves to do). I really enjoyed making Santa's fur on his jacket and his beard and making the french knot sheep so I got up close with the camera so you could see the details. French knots are my favorite, favorite stitch. Also a music recommendation. I am listening to Death Cab For Cutie's Plans which I took out of the library. Very haunting and thought provoking and the most wonderful music to stitch in a meditative way to. For those of you who are Twilight fans they sing the song Meet Me at The Equinox from the movie. I'm not a Twilight fan but I am a Death Cab For Cutie fan so that is where my interest lies. T

A little joy 002 , a photo by DebraAnn813 on Flickr. I didn't want to end this year without expressing just how joyful this year was. Not the whole year but so much of it. At the end of this year I'm lucky to share my love of family, love of embroidery, love of music with masses. I've had such wonderful opportunities, such wonderful times with friends and family, such wonderful time hand embroidering and I've discovered how easy it is to be happy with a needle in my hand and headphones on my ears!
